Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a game filled to the brim with content, so this new low price is definitely a good way to jump in for the first time, especially if you prefer physical media. The Day One Edition bonuses are a nice inclusion to an already quality Soulslike experience. We scored the Soulslike action game an 8 in our review back when it released this past July. The game offers numerous customization options and multiple ways to engage in combat. Unlike other Soulslikes, dying plays a crucial role in both the mechanics and narrative in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, thanks to the Madness mechanic. You gain Madness by killing enemies or dying, and unlock different abilities the more you have. So instead of just setting you back and dropping some currency after you die, slowly build up Madness. At 100% Madness, you deal more damage–but take more damage, too–and if you die in this state, you’ll be reset. It’s a high-risk, high-reward system that sets it apart from other Soulslikes.
