Kate Middleton Picks Catherine Walker, Once Again, for Remembrance Sunday Service in London

The Princess of Wales returned to a favorite label for the Remembrance Sunday morning, donning the same black Catherine Walker coatdress she wore to the solemn event three years ago.

This time, she added a flourish in the form of a lacy navy blue bib collar, as she stood beside Queen Camilla on the balcony of the Foreign Office building in London. She paired the military-style “Evie” coat, which has a high collar and three diagonal pintucks across the front, with a Lock & Co. hat that had similar details.

She also wore pearl drop earrings that once belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. They are known as the Collingwood earrings, after the jewelers that made them. The princess is wearing an RAF brooch with gold wings, a tribute to her paternal grandfather who served as a fighter pilot during World War II.

Remembrance Sunday is one of the most important dates on the U.K. calendar, where past and present prime ministers, government officials and senior members of the royal family come together to pay their respects to serving members of the armed forces and those who have died in the line of duty.

The annual Remembrance Sunday service is led by King Charles at The Cenotaph war memorial in central London, with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, Members of Parliament, veterans and their families in attendance.

In a statement on social media, the Prince and Princess of Wales said that on Remebrance Sunday, “we pause to reflect on the extraordinary bravery and sacrifice of all who have served – and continue to serve – in defence of our freedoms. We remember them, today and always.”

They added: “Each year it is an honor to take part in Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph in London alongside other members of the Royal Family and in front of veterans and their families. Lest We Forget.”

Catherine Walker has long been one of the princess’ go-to labels for Remembrance Sunday and other public events and a way of paying tribute to her late mother-in-law. Catherine Walker was among one of Princess Diana’s trusted circle of fashion designers and they collaborated throughout her lifetime.

In the past, Middleton has also worn Alexander McQueen, Temperley London and Diane von Furstenberg to the Remembrance Sunday service.

On Saturday evening, Nov. 8, she attended the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall to celebrate and commemorate the Armed Forces. She chose a black dress with a white portrait collar by Alessandra Rich, Bahrain pearl earrings, a diamond thistle brooch and black suede accessories.
