New Donkey Kong-Themed Switch 2 Controller Gets Early Black Friday Price Cut

Turtle Beach’s recently released Donkey Kong-themed controller is on sale for the first time in Amazon’s early Black Friday gaming sale. The Turtle Beach Rematch Donkey Kong Reveal Edition launched last month with a $60 price tag, but Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 owners can snag the officially licensed wireless controller for $49 while supplies last.

Announced just a few days after Donkey Kong Bananza’s July launch, the Donkey Kong Reveal Edition has lenticular artwork that changes when you tilt the controller. With the Switch 2 console and Donkey Kong Bananza sure to be a popular gifts this holiday, this Donkey Kong-inspired controller could be a great add-on present.

$49 (was $60) | Limited-time deal

Covered in hues of green and black with red accents, it features DK and Diddy Kong racing through the jungle. The back buttons are red while the triggers are green, which should make it stand out in your game room. Its lenticular design means that, as you move the controller, the design will slowly morph, revealing new layers of detail.

As for the internal tech, if you’ve ever used a PDP Rematch Wireless Controller, that’s essentially what this is. Turtle Beach acquired PDP in 2024 and has launched rebranded versions of select PDP accessories like the popular Rematch.

The Rematch syncs wirelessly to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles via Bluetooth and offers up to 40 hours of playtime on a full charge. It has two built-in back buttons that can be remapped on the fly and six-axis motion controls.

With superb ergonomics, solid buttons and triggers, and a stable, low-latency wireless connection, the Rematch is a decent alternative to Nintendo’s pricier Pro Controllers. But you will miss out on a few features with the Rematch–and most officially licensed Switch controllers–including rumble and NFC support for Amiibo. It also lacks the C Button found on the Joy-Con 2 and Pro Controller 2.

There are better third-party Switch controllers at similar price points, including the 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth with a travel case for $45 (was $70) and the newer Ultimate 2 Bluetooth for $63 (was $70), but the Rematch is the only one you can buy in stores today with a Donkey Kong theme.

The Turtle Beach Rematch is also available in several Super Mario-inspired designs, including the glow-in-the-dark Invincible Mario Edition and Mario Bricks Red/Blue, which has lenticular artwork like the Donkey Kong model.

Amazon also has deals on the PDP RealMz Wireless Controllers, which have transparent shells and 3D character and scene dioramas The Sonic Superstars Green Hill Zone Edition is discounted to only $35 (was $60) at Amazon. You can get a Tails-themed version for $44 as well as a model featuring Knuckles for $50. An upgraded RealMz Wireless Controller with motion controls and a Shadow the Hedgehog theme is up for grabs for $37.75 (was $65) when you click the coupon box on Amazon’s store page. There’s also a Minecraft Steve Forest Biome Edition for $50 (was $60).

PowerA, the other major manufacturer of officially licensed Nintendo controllers, recently released the first third-party wireless controller with the C Button for GameChat on Switch 2. The PowerA Advantage Wireless Controller is available in Super Mario and Pokemon designs. It has Hall Effect sticks, remappable back buttons, motion controls, and the familiar Switch Pro-style form factor. You can save five bucks on the Mario and Pokemon versions, which drops the price to $65 (was $70). The wired version of the PowerA Advantage is discounted to as low as $28.65 (was $40) for a retro Super Mario theme.

Nintendo fans can also get PowerA’s Super Mario Joy Wireless Controller for only $27 (was $50) in Amazon’s early Black Friday sale. For more gaming deals, check out GameSpot’s Black Friday 2025 hub, which is updated each day with new stories.
