Webcast Remote working really does look like it’s going to be the new normal, either by the average worker continuing to stay away from the office in the mid-term or, perhaps more interestingly, because many organisations have now switched to understanding the benefits of dispersed and remote workers as a viable option for the corporate toolset.
Working in the cloud, and fully embracing IaaS (infrastructure as a service) or SaaS (software as a service) environments does, after all, allow workers to do their work anywhere, whenever they like, and unlocks a number of new approaches to getting things done in convenient – or even stimulating – ways.
But the rapid pivot to cloud services may have brought with it less positive aspects. When IT teams chose the new cloud platforms, did they have the time and insight to think about how well-protected the data would be in its new environment? And what degree of control the company would still retain over it weeks, months or even years down the line?
This is the topic we’ll be considering our upcoming webcast. While the cloud looks like the most easily accessible and most everyday convenient place for your corporate data right now, did you do your homework, go in with the right attitude, and are you now able to confidently state that your data is still within your grasp?
On September 8, 2020 at 1.30pm AEST, The Register’s APAC Editor Simon Sharwood will be joined by Nathan Steiner and Raymond Goh from DR and intelligent data management firm Veeam. The panel will explore how to improve your data protection policy when venturing into the cloud.
The conversation will cover the skillsets IT teams should adopt when engaging in an accelerated cloud migration schedule, and where work done already can come under review, as well as be adapted to cover IaaS and SaaS environments.
By the end of the session, you’ll have learned how to properly prepare your organisation for data spread across hybrid, multi-cloud environments, how to identify and reduce the particular risks cloud adoption brings about, and how to support the mission, on an ongoing basis, by assembling digital transformation-focused teams.
