Taylor warned off Rangers move
Former Sunderland striker Kevin Phillips has warned Charlton star Lyle Taylor off a move to Scotland.
Taylor is refusing to play again this season because he does not want to risk picking up and injury that could blow his chances of securing a big money move as a free agent this summer.
Rangers are one of several clubs reportedly interested, but Phillips believes he may not get regular playing time.
“He can go to Scotland but if Morelos stays and Defoe stays – does he get in front of those two? I do not think he does at the moment,” Phillips told Football Insider.
“He might be going from a club where he is playing week in, week out to a club where he is going to be on the bench.
“From the player’s point of view, if you are going to leave, go to a club where you will play week in, week out and continue doing what you have been doing.
“He is rated very highly. I want to see him playing regularly wherever he is next year.”
