Premier League champions Liverpool looked in good spirits after spending another day training at their pre-season camp in Austria.
Jurgen Klopp was forced to alter his plans, having originally planned to travel to Evian in France only to see the UK government’s quarantine travel regulations change.
There were fears that the Reds would face a similar situation after the UK government opted to remove Austria from the ‘travel corridor’ list from 4am on Saturday, August 22.
But Liverpool will be free to complete their pre-season training camp in Salzburg as they were allowed to apply for an exemption with the Football Association due to scheduled friendly matches against RB Salzburg and Stuttgart.
Surrounded by the hilly forests, the Premier League champions geared up for their return to action on September 12 with a number of new faces joining the group.
Attacking pair Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah were spotted going through a workout against youngsters Nathaniel Phillips and 17-year-old Billy Koumetio, a highly-rated defensive prospect from the club’s academy.
Liverpool fans were able to get a first glimpse of new signing Kostas Tsimikas after his £11.75 million switch from Olympiacos and he appeared to have no trouble settling in.
Loris Karius and Rhian Brewster, who have returned from loans at Besiktas and Swansea respectively, were part of the group session.
It’s been a good week for Neco Williams after he signed his new five-year contract with the Merseyside club earlier this week and the 19-year-old was also involved in the session as Klopp addressed his players in a huddle.
