P

op rock band HAIM have curated a range of homemade and vintage homewares from independent sellers’ platform Etsy to transform their California music studio.

Sister trio Alana, Danielle and Este Haim, whose retro harmonies and effortlessly cool vibe made hits of songs like Summer Girl and Want You Back, have a love for designer vintage pieces and eclectic accents.

Music aside, the band’s trademark videos feature the sisters walking shoulder to shoulder around Los Angeles and have been described by critics as making music that sounds like the city itself.

So it’s fitting that HAIM’s new Etsy edit is as seemingly laid-back, stylish and creative as the sisters themselves, featuring plenty of independent makers, as well as vintage instruments from online music marketplace Reverb.

“We wanted to surround ourselves with pieces that had a history and therefore had a story, hopefully these pieces will help us conjure some creativity,” said HAIM about the new-look studio which they hope to use to write and demo their new songs. “We’re not afraid to mix eras, I think if anything that’s what we love in design.”

“We grew up scouring thrift stores for vintage finds from a young age. When we finally were old enough to move out of our parents’ house, everything we put into our home was from flea markets and charity shops.

“It’s nice to feel like something you’re wearing has had a life of its own before you put it on. Same goes with home decor.
