Brentford are looking to bounce back from a 1-0 first-leg defeat as they face Bournemouth for a place in the Championship Playoff Final.

The visitors are looking to join Norwich and Watford in securing an immediate return to the Premier League following their relegation last year.

Brentford, meanwhile, are trying to overcome the disappointment of last season’s Playoff Final defeat against Fulham by winning promotion, though they will need to overcome a dismal playoff record which has seen them fail in all nine of their campaigns across various divisions.

The Bees’ hopes will be boosted by the return of fans, many of whom will be attending a game at the club’s new home for the first time, after they left Griffin Park at the end of last season.

Live updates

24 mins: We are seeing all sorts of time-wasting already here. The home fans are furious, Thomas Frank is moaning at the fourth official. Suspect we’ll see a yellow or two before long to set the bar.

22 mins: We’ve just seen a replay and it’s remarkable that Toney’s been booked for that little scuffle. He had the ball in his hands and Begovic has chased after him and punched it out.

21 mins: Well, we’ve got some game on here now. Not even 20 minutes in and we’ve had all sorts of drama and a sizzling atmosphere.

19 mins: Ivan Toney and Asmir Begovic are both carded for some afters as the Bournemouth ‘keeper tried to stop Toney racing back to halfway with the ball.

GOAL! Brentford 1-1 Bournemouth | Ivan Toney (P) 16′

Goal No32 of the season. Beautifully put away.

15 mins: Penalty to Brentford!

Brilliant from Ivan Toney, who cushions into the path of Marcondes and the midfielder’s cross hits the arm of the sliding defender. A long pause but eventually the referee points to the spot.

12 mins: Better from Brentford as Canos controls a big switch nicely and delivers towards Toney, whose flick-on has to be helped behind by Kelly, with Mbuemo lurking at the back post.

9 mins: It’s unfathomable, the way Brentford defended – or rather didn’t – there. Think of that one Man United conceded in the Champions League earlier this season.

This place was absolutely rocking but the way the Bournemouth bench celebrated tells you they know how big a goal that is. Early settler.

GOAL! | Brentford 0-1 Bournemouth | Arnaut Danjuma 6’

This really is criminal from the home side, who push everyone up for an early corner and Danjuma ends up clean through on goal from inside his own half. As on Monday night, he makes no mistake!

4 mins: Huge cheers as Toney wins a flick-on and Mbuemo presses Begovic into an error, passing straight off the park. Great atmosphere in here.
