Welcome to the Evening Standard’s LIVE coverage of the Premier League clash between Arsenal and Manchester United.

Mikel Arteta was denied a first win as Arsenal manager last time out courtesy of Chelsea’s dramatic sucker-punch win at the Emirates Stadium.

Now 15 matches without a win in all competitions, they face another test as Man Utd come to town. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have refound their groove over Christmas, and have performed well in all the big games this season.

But who will come out on top? James Olley and Simon Collings are at the Emirates Stadium for this one, which kicks off at 8pm GMT.

HALF TIME | Arsenal 2-0 Man Utd

Another excellent first-half display from the Gunners and this time, they’ve got a two-goal lead as opposed to one. Pepe and Sokratis’ goals give Arteta a whiff of his first victory.

45+1 mins: Maguire MUST score!

Oh dear. What a miss!

Maguire hasn’t scored since his £80m move from Leicester but he won’t get a better chance than this. He ghosts to the far post and is found by Rashford’s delivery, but somehow fails to beat Leno.

That was a sitter.

45 mins: One minute to be added on.

Simon Collings at the Emirates Stadium

“Arsenal needed that second goal before the break. Against Chelsea they didn’t kill the game and Sokratis’ strike now at least puts some daylight between them and Manchester United. The Emirates is the loudest it has been in months.”

Arsenal 2-0 Man Utd | Sokratis 43′

It’s a second and it’s entirely deserved! More poor defending from United as Pepe’s corner is tipped out by De Gea and Sokratis hammers home the rebound.

38 mins: POST!

Pepe nearly gets his second!

A dreadful kick out from the back from De Gea gives Pepe the chance to curl one and that he does, but it bounces back off the woodwork.

United are clinging on.

36 mins: Kolasinac continues to bomb it up the left-hand side and you just wonder why Solskjaer hasn’t encouraged his players to make the most of the gaps.

The attacking approach has worked for Arteta so far and surely forcing Kolasinac back a bit.

32 mins: Torreira inches wide!

Another chance goes begging as the Uruguayan improvises on the edge of the box and pokes just wide of De Gea’s goal.

Simon Collings at the Emirates

“That miss just about sums up Lacazette at the moment. Brilliant build-up play to spin Maguire, but then his shot goes out for a throw-in. The Frenchman needs one to just go in off his shin right now – can’t buy a goal.”

31 mins: Lacazette wide!

Brilliant hold-up play from the French striker, turning Maguire despite being held by the defender, but spurns his effort wide.

Big chance for the Gunners to double their lead.

28 mins: Arsenal play their way confidently out from the back and Ozil performs a lovely turn to get past Maguire. The defender brings him down rather cynically but no booking follows.

24 mins: Matic floats a ball over the top to Rashford and Leno is prepared for it, coming way off his line to head clear.

The German, after his horrendous error against Chelsea, looks a lot more assured in goal so far today.

20 mins: Most of Arsenal’s attacking threat is coming down the left-hand side because Kolasinac is making some devilish runs down that flank.

This time it’s Ozil who plays a beautiful outside-of-the-boot cross but there’s no red shirt on the end of it.

Simon Collings at the Emirates

“A fairly solid start from Arsenal so far, who lead courtesy of Pepe. The winger looks to have Luke Shaw’s number at left-back and is getting at him whenever he can. Promising signs for Arsenal fans.”

16 mins: Lingard is a tad fortunate not to go into the book for a foul from behind Torreira.

14 mins: United started well but since the goal they’ve looked a little bit rattled.

The Emirates is pumping and the crowd are cheering every pass like a goal and you get the feeling the Arsenal players will only take more confidence from that as the game goes on.

Simon Collings at the Emirates Stadium

“Now that should settle any nerves at the Emirates as Arsenal take the lead. It is the Gunners’ first attack of any note and you have to wonder how Pepe had that much time to slot it home. Arteta won’t care, though. 1-0 to Arsenal.”

10 mins: Pepe is definitely in the mood today.

He sells Shaw with a crafty turn inside the box not once but twice before picking out Aubameyang at the far post, and the Gabonese volleys over.

That should’ve been 2-0.

Arsenal 1-0 Man Utd | Nicolas Pepe 8′

It’s good work from Aubameyang to set up Kolasinac down the left and his cross deflects kindly into the path of Pepe, who finishes smartly past De Gea.

5 mins: Maitland-Niles gives the ball away sloppily and United are piling men forward on the break.

But James’ through pass is cut out superbly by Xhaka, who tracked back with all of his might there.
